Has anyone ever shown an affected horse? If so, how did it go? I know their scores are halved, but horses with faults are also ment to not do so well, but they do, so i am curious ... I have this boy Castlemaine. He has the numbers to do great but affected kind of drags him down. Train? Don't train? .. Show? Don't show? Ideas?

Train and see how he does, you can look at it as a great experiment.

I unfortunetly bred a good horse for showing, but she turned out Affected.. I'm training her right now. I might have to show her and see how she does

I'll join in with this affected showing with this boy. Summer LoverEDIT: I only just realised Castlemaine is an Aust. Pony *makes a note so she can breed him to her clear mares* He is a very handsome lad.

Not that affected is good, but i am glad to see a few others who will show theirs. The results should be intersting ... azurarose .. most of my stock are carriers so i won't be getting too many foals from Castle, but i look forward to seeing what he can do for you

Totally off the original topic but .. with both of our stock, maybe we can get these ponies a little more well known (i have rehomed way too many).

lmao, I do the same thing. I've been focusing mainly on my ASH herd and neglecting my Aust. Ponies and Brumbies *makes a note to breed only Brumby & Aust. Ponies this season*
I hope we can rope in some more breeders *tries to think of a way to lure them in*

I have been neglecting everything lately (except when i see alot of blue in a foal of course .. rarely happens though). I'm sure once we start selling some high % foals the ponies will take off. It is like any rare breed i guess. Just takes time.

Well, my affected colt had his first show today and i am now convinced that affecteds really don't do well in the ring.
He came last in everything and scored in the 20s. Off to the pasture to wait to turn 4 he goes.

I don't show any of my Affecteds...I still train them in Foal and Green but then they stop...it's not worth the money to enter them because they won't place in the winning spots....fault only effect the scores slightly...Affects halve the scores...my normal Beginner scores are in the 60s and they don't even place....let alone if you cut that in half to 30s. You also entered him in the Futurity show when there are tons of entries...my 65% colt's best score was an 11th with 45.17 (Belinos), though my NFG Walkaloosa filly won 2 classes in the Gaited Futurity. I only keep the Affecteds that will benefit me in the future...I currently have several because both of my custom boys are carriers as are my best LS mares. Helikaon's Sweet 60% Red Bay Frame Overo TB mare www.somehorsegame.com/horseinfo.php?horseid=36588I kept her because of her Strength and Temperament...her foal with determine whether or not she gets rehomed after weaning. Twilight Sweet 64% Buff Dun Varnish TB filly www.somehorsegame.com/horseinfo.php?horseid=00053608Kept for Conformation, Color and overall stats...future foal will determine her fate Unnamed 65% Alabaster TB filly www.somehorsegame.com/horseinfo.php?horseid=00061151Kept for Speed, Color and overall stats Unnamed 61% Amber Dun Frame Overo TB colt www.somehorsegame.com/horseinfo.php?horseid=00062595Kept for Speed...will breed to a clear then probably rehome Unnamed Amber Dun Frame Overo TB colt www.somehorsegame.com/horseinfo.php?horseid=00058978Kept for Strength and Intelligence...may have Heart will be to clear then rehome
