Training Comments - Updated July 5th

These are just some training comments i have collected from my horses over the past few days. The right order has not yet been put into place, but it is a start. If anyone has comments that are not listed, feel free to post them ans i will add them to this thread. If you can work out the correct order under each heading, feel free to add them too and i will change that to.

FOAL TRAINING

HALTER
allowed the halter to touch his neck and sides
Horse dislikes wearing her halter
wore the halter but he tossed his head
accepted the halter with a snort
is starting to accept the halter
easily allowed the halter to be buckled onto his head.
eagerly put his head down for the halter.

LEAD
was resistant to being led
lagged behind me while walking
walked too far behind me
walked too far ahead of me
started to accept the lead
did not fight the lead
walked calmly at my side

TACK
investigated the tack I hung on the fence
did not shy from tack
wore both saddle and bridle easily.

LOAD
entered without me, but backed out quickly
calmly loaded into the trailer
eagerly loaded in the trailer
rode in the trailer without stomping or fretting

TIE/STAND
danced back and forth while tied
stood with out pulling back when left alone
vocalized nervously while tied
stood tied with me there
stood calmly while tied and waited for you to return
patiently stood while tied
waited quietly while tied

SACK
cowkicked when the full sack was placed on his back
bucked when the full sack was placed on her back
snorted when the full sack was placed on her back
circled uneasily with the full sack on her back
moved out quietly with the full sack on his back
stood dozing with the full sack on its back
stood calmly with full sack on his back

GROUND
raised his head to avoid the bit
tossed his head when wearing the bridle
tossed her head when I made contact on the bit
wore both saddle and bridle easily
moved forward very cautiously while on the long lines
moved out quietly without resistance to my direction
eagerly worked on the long reins

Not Sure Where To Put
lathered and salivating from nervousness
moved off the leg smartly ??
showed much improvement today
pranced in circles around me

GREEN TRAINING

WOAH

BACK UP
took a few steps backward while shaking his head ??

LEFT
took a handful of steps to the left

RIGHT
resisted turning right

WALK
walked the length of the arena without weaving

TROT
trotted stiff legged, jarring you hard
trotted with urging, but wandered side to side
moved to a trot with little urging
moved out at a trot with little hesitation
trotted with much improved balance
trotted across the arena without weaving
transitioned to a trot when I gave the leg cue
moved easily into a trot
trotted without any hesitation

CANTER
cantered across the arena, but veered toward the gate
cantered across the arena much straighter

Not Sure Where To Put
stepped out smartly
moved out without any agitation.
moved out with moderate urging
moved out much more willingly
moved out willingly
pranced forward while tossing its head and snorting
stepped out with ears alert, and head up
stopped while tossing his head about
nosed the air when the bit made contact

DISCIPLINE TRAINING

ENGLISH
brushed through the hedges without hesitation
cleared the wall easily
jumped the oxers wonderfully
popped over all three jumps neatly and cleanly
popped over the wall without touching a brick
was tucking up very nicely
happily crossed the bridge
tackled the combination without hesitation

WESTERN
picked up the lead after a few strides
responded well, and shifted her weight to her rear
broke more cleanly

GAITED

ENDURANCE
Your horse is improving nicely
Your horse looks great out there!

3 DAY EVENT
resisted collecting between jumps
stumbled before the third jump, barely picking up to rattle it dangerously
intimidated by the reflection off the water
tried to not knock the rails off the oxers
popped neatly over the gate.
spooked at the sound of her hooves echoing.
jumped at an angle, brushing the standard on the second fence, knocking it down.
approached too fast, knocking the top poles off both jumps.
cleared two jumps, but became confused at the third and stopped.
dropped his shoulder at the last moment, nearly dumping me.
jumped the oxers, but caught the back rail.
inspected the water jump.
planted her feet and slid into the wall, scattering the bricks
approached the jump, but was unsure how to jump.
was more confident over the jumps.
balked and skittered sideways.

RACING

HARNESS RACING
Your horse is looking great!

DRESSAGE
shows improvement in elevation
shows much improvement in its gait
Your horse moves forward well with good length bend

RODEO
Your horse looks great out there!
Your horse shows definite improvement in its speed
Your horse is showing some good effort out there
shows much improvement in the chute
Your horse resists standing still in the corner
Your horse is turns tighter but is crooked coming home

STEEPLECHASE
Your horse is showing some good effort out there
horse is now changing leads on cue
Your horse is descending the banks more willingly.

DRAFT
Your horse enthusiasticly crosses the bridge
took out a stride, and barely cleared the jump
