Unicorn's Utopia
Unicorn's Utopia has been in business since November 05. The ranch started out small and with little focus. Gradually it grew into the reliable line of Appaloosas it is today.
Firstly I made the decision back in V3 to focus purely on Lp and solids. I also focus on colour, I don't tend to breed roans as I love the clean look of appaloosa spots, and I think roan takes away from that. I only used to keep k/k horses. This gene isn't testable ingame now and doesn't seem to be as prominent so I'm not as worried about it, but I tend to avoid it, due to it's overwhelming dominance.
This means that I keep Appaloosas in some of the rarest colours. I tend to lean towards dark colours such as liver chestnut, seal brown, mahogany bay, chocolate palomino etc, pagare, and flaxen. Pa/pa and f/f are genes I actively seek. I also breed duns, champagne, cream, rabicano and silver, though not as decisively.
On top of all this, I strive to breed horses with a future in the show ring. I like my Appaloosas to have high conformation, intelligence and trainability, along with surefoot, speed and aglity. Cowsense and heart are also of great importance to me.
The biggest change in our goals from V3 to V4 is that we are only breeding purebred Apploosas. This means we only breed our Appys to other Appys or Local Stock. I thought this would be quite difficult at first, but as now don't look at many TB's, Arabs or AQHs I don't know what I'm missing! Ignorance in this case, is bliss! I think there are more than enough good appys about to keep me from roaming!
Where is Unicorn's Utopia currently, regarding these goals?

Stats:
- Our current highest homebred is 71% sired by our resident 66% custom stally Soul Friend and our 70 % custom mare Cherry Blossom Memory
- Our highest horse overall, is the same as above.
- Soul Friend has an 8 in surefoot which is great for my breeding program. He has already produced three possible rodeo or western futurity hopefuls and future champs!
- Cherry Blossom Memory's stats are very good all round and really compliment Soul Friends. I believe she will bring a lot to the herd stats-wise.
- My third custom Had Another Dream, also a broodmare should hopefully bring strength and movement to my herd.
