Who am i?
My history traces back to the early 1560's.
During the Renaissance period, i was considered the most suitable mount because of my exceptional sturdiness, beauty and intelligence.
As late as two hundred years ago, there were a great number of blacks, browns, chestnuts, duns and even piebalds and skewbalds among us.
Today, grey is my dominant color, but you will see the odd black or bay.
I average between 14.3 to 15.3 hands. My large appealing eyes is the first thing you will notice about me. The influence of Arabian blood in me is found in my head, small alert ears and my nose.
I am known best for the art of classical horsemanship/Dressage.

Another one ..
Who Am I?
My origins trace back to a stallion foaled in 1780 but i am a relatively new breed, dating back just over 200 years.
I started out for one purpose only, required to reach a mile distance in order to be registered.
My career continued to flourish until World War I, after which it suffered two lean decades.
Besides the career i was bred for, i can be found doing dressage, eventing, western and hunt seat pleasure classes, hunters, jumpers, trail horses, barrel racers, endurance mounts, cutting, gymkhana, racking and saddle seat classes, and police and drill team mounts.
I resemble my ancestor, although i do not stand as tall, averaging 15.2 hands with a longer body.
I appear in varying colors, although bay, brown and black are predominant.

I have been a little slack ... Who Am I? I am a relatively new breed, only dating back to the early 1950's. In fact, i was bred by mistake. When i was born, my breeder decided to try and produce more of my kind. A registry opened for my breed, but with very strict guidelines. Our height limits had to be between 44 inches to 52 inches to qualify. In 1963, our height limit increased to between to 46 inches and 54 inches, then again in 1986, it was increased again to 56 inches. After breeding the sires line out, we gained our own unique look. Our head is slightly dished like the arab and our bodies muscled like a quarter horse. Our coloring is unmistakable, and can be recognized from 40 feet away. We are known for trail and endurance riding, ranch work and hunting. Adults enjoy showing us at halter and in cart. Our motto is "Try hard, win humbly, lose gracefully and, if you must ... protest with dignity." Who Am I?
